It is braced like a 12 fret guitar but of course has a 13 fret neck joint. As a result the bridge plate was not under the bridge and an auxiliary one was added when new. We opted to remove the old ones which were not doing much and replace it with one solid piece. The neck has a volute and originally wore banjo tuners, at some point it was fitted with strip tuners of the period. It must have gone back to Gibson in the early 1930s due to the headstock logo and some of the repairs appear factory of that era. The original bridge had been shaved and shimmed so we made a reproduction out of Brazilian. There are several repaired cracks. We reset the neck and refretted it as well. This guitar was played a lot over the years as the wear shows. Amazingly it has the original soft case bridge pins and rope strap. One of the most interesting features of this guitar is the original owners name stamped in the truss rod cover and pickguard "Walter White". We have no idea who Walter White was or what the colorful history of this guitar includes. It is an amazing guitar that has a huge tonal range. It is very light in build and has been played extensively. The sound is unlike any other Gibson from the era due to all the unique features. We know of two other guitars from this first batch floating around out there. A rare chance to make one of them yours. Includes original soft case and strap.

1929 National Style 1 tenor guitar in excellent condition. All original except for the tuners which are period correct replacements. Neck is nice and straight and the action is comfortable all over. Original case in very good condition.

1930 Marshall Special guitar in excellent condition. Gibson made the Marshall Special Hawaiian guitar for a Lillian G. The two footed ebony bridge is original and has the serial number chalked on the underside. The pickguard, tailpiece and tuners are also all original and in great shape. The finish is all original. We refretted it and repaired a small center seam separation on the back and one near invisible top crack. The features of this guitar suggest it was ordered to compete with a 16" L-5. The look is stunning and the sound impressive. It has a huge open voice. The attack is explosive with a hard pick and strong right hand. There is thickness to the trebles all over the neck. As powerful of a 16" guitar as we have heard. Quite possibly a singular example with these features. Includes original hard case.

Circa 1925 Stella grand concert 12 string guitar. Solid birch back and sides with spruce top. This guitar is known as the Barbecue Bob model. These were used by many prominent blues and jazz musicians in the 20s and 30s. Lonnie Johnson is pictured with one of these playing duets with Eddie Lang.
