1850s Martin 2 1/2-34 model in excellent condition. An extremely rare and early Martin guitar in remarkable original condition.  Dimensions are overall length 36 1/2", lower bout width 11 7/8", upper bout width 8 1/4", depth at end block 4", depth at neck 3 1/4", body length 18 1/4", 24 1/2" scale length. Original Jerome tuners in excellent condition with pearl buttons, ivory bridge and pins, back and sides are Brazilian rosewood with the back having a spruce layer laminated on the inside.  The finish is original on the back sides and neck with some very light overspray on the top.  The neck is Spanish cedar with an ebony fingerboard and is notable for not being finished black.  The playability and tone of the instrument are excellent.  It comes nicely housed in its original coffin case.
