1953 Kay K-162

1953 Kay K-162 in very good condition. These Kay bass guitars have an extraordinary look and have an interesting history. Made famous by Andrew "Blueblood" McMahon, best known as the bass player for Howlin’ Wolf. This is a hollow closed body with a chunky neck. Currently, this bass is set up with flat wound strings and plays great. Original pickup has been rewound here in the shop, and the tail piece is replaced. Intonation and set up is spot on, and this has a great look and feel. Frets are original and have a lot of life in them. A great bass with an original sound. Comes with the original case.
