1990 Martin Custom OM-28
1990 Martin OM-28 Custom in near mint condition. This guitar was custom ordered in 1990 to recreate a prewar style OM-28, something Martin did not offer at the time. As per the included original spec sheet/order form it features: close grain AAAV Engleman spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 5/16" top braces, herringbone purfling and zipper back strip, LP neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, 1 3/4" nut width, 25.4" scale, 2 5/16" string spacing, gloss finish body with no toner, satin neck, M-6 tuners, OM style tortoise pickguard, molded Martin case. The guitar comes from the family of the original owner who ordered this guitar through the Music Emporium. It has one hard to notice pick scratch on the top otherwise it is mint. No fret wear. The playability is excellent with low fingerstyle action 5/64" to 1/16" at 12th fret. Truss rod works and neck is straight. No issues. It is rare to find a Brazilian Martin from this era and this one was very well thought out and built. The sound is classic BRW OM Martin, complex, clear and articulate. The combination of wider neck and even clarity makes for a wonderful finger picker all around the fret board. A unique and excellent guitar.
