

1940 Gibson Special #4
1940 Gibson Special #4 archtop in very good condition. This Gibson is all original with no history of repairs. This Special #4 was constructed with a carved solid spruce top, solid maple sides, a solid flat maple back, a mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The “V” shaped neck has a width of 1 3/4” at the nut, a depth of 1.00” deep at the first fret, and a depth of 1.10” at the tenth fret. The guitar has a 24 3/4” scale and weighs 4.40 lbs. This Gibson Special #4 is similar to earlier 16" L-50's with a flat back and has an exceptionally cool look with a factory black finish and tiger striped pickguard. Comes with a gigbag.
