1896 Martin 0-28 in near mint condition for an instrument at over 100 years old. This guitar is in all original condition, and has thrived its whole life with no body cracks or history of major repairs. The bridge has small crack on the treble side that was neatly repaired by Tom here at the shop. This guitar is in truly phenomenal shape for its age and all components are original to the instrument. Constructed with a spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back sides, cedar neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, original banjo friction tuners bridge pins, nut, and saddle. Original rare "Dark Finish" as originally called by Martin. This Style 28 features a scale length of 24.9", fingerboard width at the nut of 1 7/8", string spacing at the bridge of 2 3/8", thickness at the first fret of 0.94", thickness at the tenth fret of 1.09", and weighs 2.74 lbs exactly. Noteworthy to mention that this guitar comes with the original "coffin" case that was actually made coffin makers.
