1927 Martin 0-28
1927 Martin 0-28 in very good condition. Gorgeous Brazilian rosewood back and sides with Red Spruce top are all crack free. There is something magic about the guitars Martin made from 1926-1930. The combination of lightness and quality materials makes for feather light strong guitars that out punch their weight class. The finish on the back and sides is in excellent condition and all original. The top finish has some wear and an area of touch up around the bridge. Neck has been reset and the bridge replaced with nice reproduction. It appears the guitar once long ago wore a tailpiece, this used to be a common solution to guitars in need of a neck set. There is an added small bridge plate in front of the intact original plate. There are three 3/32" holes plugged in the top from what must have been a pickguard. 1 7/8" nut width and rounded V profile with not much taper in depth make for a comfortable feel. The bar frets have been dressed and nicely crowned for smooth playability. The sound is delicate when played lightly with air and wood behind the fundamental. Rich and sweet harmonic overtones linger long after the attack of the note is gone. A most musical and pleasing experience to play. Includes original hard case also in very good condition.
