1931 Gibson L-00
1931 Gibson L-00 in very good condition. The FON 66 dates it to 1931 as does the headstock logo, however the white pickguard suggest it went back to Gibson a year or two later for some work. The neck is large for a guitar from this era it seems Gibson removed the frets and planned down the fingerboard then added a maple veneer and glued a new fingerboard right on top making for the extra fat neck. Most likely this was done to deal with a rise over the body. It was clearly factory work and done in the 1930s. We recently reset the neck and refretted it with vintage size wire. The finish, tuners, bridge, and all bracing is original. It has one repaired back crack, center seam on top, and two repaired top cracks all done cleanly. It is a surprisingly powerful guitar and has great tone. Includes hard case.
