1939 Gibson Recording King Ray Whitley
1939 Gibson Recording King Ray Whitley Rosewood in excellent condition. One of the most rare big body Gibsons of the 1930s. Has had a neck reset and wears period Grover 98 tuners in place of the original Klusons. The lower bout top to side joint was reglued at some point in a two inch section, neatly done. Finish is all original and in good shape, bridge, plate, all braces, frets, and pickguard are all original. Has a sound like no other Gibson. Most similar to the AJs of the same era although with the shorter 24.75" scale. A unique and most excellent guitar. Includes non-original hard case.
