1941 Martin D-28 SN: 79779 in excellent condition with very minimal signs of wear for an instrument of its age. One of cleanest and perfectly open sounding D-28's we've ever had in the shop. Clear balanced projection and very responsive resonance that supports all dynamic levels. This guitar is all original save for a neatly repaired side crack and professionally reset neck. The finish has ambered beautifully making for a visually and audibly stunning instrument. Original bridge is uncut, bridgeplate is original. This guitar was constructed with an Adirondack Spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge. This iconic Pre-War D-28 features carefully maintained herringbone purfling and period correct scalloped X-bracing. This guitar has a scale length of 25.4", fingerboard width at the nut of 1 11/16", string spacing at the saddle of 2 1/8", thickness at the first fret of .89", thickness at the tenth fret of 1.02", and weighs 4.36 lbs exactly. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case.
