1943 Gibson Southern Jumbo
1943 Gibson Southern Jumbo in excellent condition with a very minimal amount of wear throughout the instrument. The first SJ's were shipped out in August, 1943 making this a very early and exceptionally clean example. Only major repairs on this guitar being a re-glued bridge done here, 4 out of 6 replaced tuning buttons, replaced A and B string bridge pins and a professionally sealed top crack near the pickguard and bridge as seen in photos, otherwise this guitar is all original. The Gibson Southern Jumbo was the top of the line flat top acoustic in Gibson’s catalogue with a 16 1/8" slope shouldered dreadnought body, mahogany back and sides, fingerboard and belly bridge, mahogany neck, double bound body and unbound neck. This guitar also features a scale length of 24 3/4", fingerboard width at the nut of 1 3/4", thickness at the first fret of .92", thickness at the tenth fret of 1.04" and weighs 3.90 lbs exactly. This guitar comes with a newer Gibson hardshell case.
