1947 D'Angelico Excel SN: 1769 in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. In all original condition with no history of major repairs save for rebinding of the headstock with the correct cellulose done here by Alex about six years ago. This Excel exhibits the common repaired back seam separation where one would expect it to be. Constructed with a spruce top, figured maple back, sides, and neck, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. This Excel is an exceptional player with a rich and powerful sound rivaling that of any of the great contemporary Jazz guitar makers and is a prime example of D'Angelicos reputation as a maker of fine archtop guitars. This guitar features a scale length of 24 3/4" and a 17" wide lower bout. The neck is 1 5/8" wide at the nut, neck profile is 0.93" deep at the first fret, 1.02" deep at the 12th fret. Weight is 7.10 lbs. Comes with the original hardshell case.
