1959 Gibson L-5c
1959 Gibson L-5c in excellent condition. The Gibson L-5 has had an impressive reputation as one of the highest quality archtops a player can find. Once the cutaway was introduced this was called the L-5 Premier, this was renamed the L-5C in the late 1940s. This is a particularly fine example of a venetian cutaway L-5c. Original tuners look excellent and work great as well as the original bridge. A very nice repro pickguard looks authentic to the original. Frets are in fantastic shape, making this guitar an ease to play on the left hand. Clear acoustic voice and excellent projection. A Johnny Smith pickup has been added on this guitar, providing magnificent sound plugged in or acoustic. No pick, buckle or fingerboard wear. There is a finely repaired top crack which is hidden below the pickguard. This is one fine example of a L-5C. Comes with the original hardshell case.
