1969 Martin D-21 D-28 Conversion

1969 Martin D-21 to D-28 Conversion.  This guitar started its life as a 1969 Martin D-21.  In the mid 2000s a well known musician who's name rhymes with Bryan Adams took a disliking to it.  During a recording session the guitar was set down on the ground and had a foot put through the top and the neck snapped in two.  The guitar was then left for dead.  Fortunately a man in the session noticed that despite the trauma, the Brazilian back and sides were intact.  The shell of the guitar was sent to Martin to be rebuilt in the style of a late 30s D-28.  The top is a very good looking piece of Adirondack spurce.  It is built the way Martin does there Golden Era guitars.  The neck is a vintage V profile with 1 11/16" nut width and 2 1/8" string spacing.  The entire guitar was finished with the same process Martin uses on new Golden Era guitars.  There was only one area of the sides that was damaged on the guitar prior to its rebuilding.  Martin reinforced the side with rosewood supports, because it was refinished after the repairs it is difficult to see.  The overall result is a wonderful playing and great sounding guitar.  The old rosewood has a nice figure and is of a higher quality than Martin has used for many years.  The sound is quite indicative of the build a cross between old and new.  The guitar has been played extensively since its rebuilding and is broken in.  It is an excellent flat picker with power and clarity.  A unique and affordable Brazilian rosewood Martin with a great story! Includes newer Martin hard case and records from Martin detailing work done.
