1981 Ibanez MC 550
1981 Ibanez MC 550 in very good condition with very minimal signs of wear throughout the instrument. This guitar is in all original condition except for replacement 1980s Schaller Tuners. This guitar has no history of major repairs with the only exception being a small patched up battle wound on the lower bout of the treble side. This guitar was constructed with body wings made up of an ash core sandwiched between two layers of koa on a seven-piece rock maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 88 humbucking pickups mounted in integrated plastic covers, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar bridge and tailpiece with a scalloped "cloud" ornament, a bone and brass nut, rubberized Sure Grip control knobs and Schaller tuners. The MC550 has active electronics consisting of a master volume and tone control, a gain (EQ boost/ cut) control, a 3-band EQ (bass, mid and treble), a Tri-sound switch to allow each pickup to be coil split or reverse phase, and an EQ on/off toggle with an LED indicator. Ibanez refers to this configuration as the EQ Tone System. This guitar has a scale length of 24 3/4", fingerboard width at the nut of 1.71", thickness at the first fret of .81", thickness at the twelfth fret of .91" and weighs 9.76 lbs exactly. This guitar comes with a non-original hardshell case.
