1998 Randy Wood F5 Master Model Supreme mandolin in very good condition with a fair amount of wear throughout the instrument. This mandolin is in all original condition and has no history of alterations or major repairs. Randy Wood is a well acclaimed mandolin maker and luthier known for his vintage restoration and detailed builds. whose mandolins have been played on stage and in the studio by the likes of Bill Monroe, Roland White, and Red Henry among many notable others. Every aspect of this mandolin except the tuning machines was hand-built by Randy Wood in his shop in Savannah, Georgia early in 1998. This mandolin was constructed with an Adirondack spruce top, well figured hard maple back, sides and neck, ebony compound radius fingerboard with .10 width fret wire, custom ebony bridge and Andy’s own patented brass tailpiece; Gotoh tuners; and 1923-style Cremona varnish finish. Neck width is 1 3/16" at the bone nut and 1 1/2" at the 12th fret. This mandolin weighs 2.1 lbs exactly and comes with the original Calton hardshell case.
