1946 Gibson LG-2

1946 Gibson LG-2 in excellent condition.  Seems we see a lot of LG-2 made just after the war.  The script logo and large neck date this to 1946.  There is no FON or serial number. This guitar has been played enough that a deep woody sound developed.  It was always cared for and shows little finish wear.  The instrument is 100% crack free.  There is light finish checking and a few small pick marks on the top.  We performed the necessary work to get it playing perfect neck reset and refret.  We were able to save the original saddle.  When we got it the original tuners were not with it but it wore cheap 70s tuners.  Fortunately no additional holes were drilled and the original bushings were still in place.  We put the original tuners back on as they work perfectly.  The neck is 1.75" at the nut and has a large comfortable round shape common to 1946 guitars.  The neck is perfectly straight and the truss rod functions as it should.  The tone is full and rich with an explosive midrange response.  Surprisingly full bass that you dont expect from an LG size guitar, even one this nice.  We've heard ones as good as this but none better.
