1940 Supertone Gene Autry Round Up X Braced
1940 Supertone Gene Autry Round Up X Braced in good condition. This Supertone was converted from ladder to X bracing by Dave Shepard and refretted by Steve Kovacik . There are four tightly repaired tops cracks. This Round Up was constructed with a spruce top, laminate birch back and sides, a poplar neck with an ebonized wooden fingerboard, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The soft “V” shaped neck has a width of 1 11/16” at the nut, a depth of 1.03” deep at the first fret, and a depth of 1.24” at the tenth fret. The guitar has a 25 1/8” scale and weighs 3.20 lbs. The body of the guitar measures 15” at the lower bout, 11 ⅛” at the upper bout, and is 3 ¾” deep measured at the lower bout. The X brace conversion gives the guitar a well balanced, open sound that lies in the realm of a 000-18 but with a deeper bass response. This figure eight shaped, Harmony made, Supertone Gene Autry Round Up may be the ultimate cowboy guitar with its horse and lasso motifs, dark sunburst, and striking firestripe pickguard, equally at home around the campfire or in your favorite honky tonk.
