1929 Gibson L-1
1929 Gibson L-1 in very good condition. This Gibson is all original aside from having replaced tuners. This L-1 was constructed with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The “C” shaped neck has a width of 1 3/4” at the nut, a depth of 0.93” at the first fret, and a depth of 1.06” at the ninth fret. The guitar has a 24 1/4” scale and weighs 2.87” lbs. This L-1 is “A” braced, making it sound more like an “X” braced guitar tonally. Commonly referred to as the “Robert Johnson" model, this spectacular, crack free example has a comfortable full feeling neck, a striking Cremona brown sunburst finish, and a particularly sweet, soulful tone. Comes with the original purple lined hardshell case.
