1929 Stella 12 String Auditorium Jumbo
1929 Stella 12 string in very good condition. This Oscar Schmidt made auditorium jumbo guitar was ingeniously converted from a 6 string to a 12 string with some neatly done re-drilling to the sides of the headstock and the addition of new tuners and a replaced wooden bridge. The guitar is crack free but has playwear throughout with a fairly substantial area of pickwear on the top, a majority of the finish worn off the back of the neck, and lots of wear to the headstock finish, although the Stella logo can still be discerned. The top features a sunburst finish and lovely floral decoration. It was constructed with a birch body and a maple neck with an engraved pearloid fingerboard. The soft “V” shaped neck measures 1 7/8" at the nut and has a depth of 0.89” at the first fret and 1.29” at the 12th fret. The lower bout measures 15.75” wide and the body is 3 7/8” deep. The guitar has a 26.5” scale and weighs 4.82 lbs. This 12 string embodies the revered Stella sound with a tone that is big, bold, and truly mesmerizing. It comes with a hardshell case.
