1930 Martin 00-17
1930 Martin 00-17 in good condition. There is good reason that Marin guitars from the 1930s are revered by collectors and players alike. The guitars from 1930 walk the line of how lightly a steel string guitar can be built. The explosive response and incredible dynamic range are the result. Clarity and woodiness are the first words that come to mind with this guitar. It has had a neck reset, a bridge reglue, as well as a few braces reglued, all work was done with hide glue. There is one 4" repaired back crack and filled holes from where it wore a tailpiece at one point. The bridge is original full height as is the finish and tuners. This 00-17 was constructed with a mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The "V" shaped neck has a width of 1 7/8" at the nut, a depth of 0.85” at the first fret, and a depth of 0.98” at the ninth fret. The guitar has a 24.9” scale and weighs 2.78 lbs. It comes with a non-original hard case.
