1933 Kalamazoo Senior Tenor
1933 Kalamazoo Senior Tenor guitar made by Gibson in very good condition. The Kalamazoo Senior was a slightly dressed up version of the KG-11. This is the first tenor example we have seen. This one has been played a whole lot and all over the neck. We reset the neck and refreted it. We were able to set the neck to the uncut original saddle (always a triumph). Ladder braced with mahogany back and sides and a spruce top. The sunburst is about as small as they get. There is wear through the original finish that makes for a handsome appearance. The tone is dry and woody with excellent cut. Ladder bracing works really well for tenor guitars. It gives a distinct tone and really bridges the gap between the banjos that these grew out of and standard guitar designs. Includes soft shell case.
