1941 Gibson J-35

1941 Gibson J-35 in very good condition.  This is the last version of the J-35 and has most of the features that would become the J-45 and J-50 in 1942.  Mahogany back and sides with spruce top, x braced with two scalloped tone bars.  Mahogany neck with French heel, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge.  Round neck shape with 1 11/16" nut width and 24 1/2" scale.  We reset the neck (quite invisibly), reglued the bridge and repaired the top center seam.  There is one long ago repaired top crack as well and the back and sides are crack free.  The finish is original and has a wonderful golden patina to the top.  The neck has a few capo marks that we have filled and leveled.  The playability is spot on as you should expect form a guitar that has gone through our shop.  The sound is powerful and clear.  Each note is well defined.  It is great in the same way many scalloped D-18s are great.  The balance when strumming full chords is ideal for accompaniment yet it has the power to play single note lead runs.  Quite impressive.  Includes original soft case and strap.
