1944 Gibson Southern Jumbo
1944 Gibson Southern Jumbo in very good condition with moderate signs of wear for a guitar of its age. This banner era Gibson is all original condition with the only exception being a professional neck reset done before arriving in our shop. At one point a tailpiece was installed and has since been removed. This guitar was notably constructed with a five piece maple neck which is quite rare along with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl parallelogram inlays, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The neck measures 1.75" at the nut , has a 93" depth at the first fret, and a 1.05" depth at the tenth fret. The guitar has a 24 3/4" scale and weighs 4.08 lbs. This early, extraordinary sounding banner Southern Jumbo has an articulate, well balanced tone with a powerful, tight bass response. This guitar comes with a non-original hardshell case.
