Crandall "Lisa"
Crandall "Lisa" guitar. 100% handmade and hand finished by Tom Crandall. Originally built in 1998 and now back to us from the original owner. The body shape is similar to a Martin M size with a 15 7/8" lower bout 11 1/4" upper bout and 3 7/8" depth. The back is intense birds-eye maple hand selected from the finest Iowa stock. Sides are flamed maple and the top is tight, even-grained Engelmann spruce selected for its lack of grain run-out. The neck is three pieces of quarter sawn mahogany with thin maple strips between them. Fingerboard and bridge are ebony. Birds-eye maple peg-head overlay with Crandall banner inlay. The bracing is Tom's own X-braced design, scalloped and tuned for the body style. Nut width is 1 11/16" with a 24 3/4" scale length. Tasteful cut-square inlays adorn the fingerboard and the 12-fret has a small parallelogram engraved with "Lisa." The top and back have maple bindings with thin blue purflling lines. The soundhole rosette is herringbone again with blue accents.
